I would like to transfer my domain name that i bought through other registra. Here it was previously registered with godaddy, and i would like to transfer it to IX, so that ix hosting would become the domain registra.

I did a quick search at IXwebhosting FAQ centre and also their help centre. Problem is that i can’t find any clue on how ix hosting handle domain transfer. Usually each hoster have their own set of guideline that require to be followed in order for the domain to be transfer successfully. Basically you start with changing the nameserver to the ixwebhosting, then unlock it, and inform the support team to initiate the transfer. Or if they provide control panel for the transfer, just use it to initiate it.

Finally i give up searching, and contacted ixwebhosting support through live chat. A quick few question, i found out that ixwebhosting not offering domain transfer. You only can register new domain name, and included the domain into your existing hosting control panel. There is a section for you to add domain to your account. Since they not offering domain transfer, and not offering domain privacy, i have to give up the thought to transfer my domain to them, and have to stick to current registra.

Server Migration Task List as following:

1. Backup database and server files.
2. Upload files to ixwebhosting server.
3. Create new mysql database in ixwebhosting server.
4. Import database to ixwebhosting mysql database created just now.
5. Login to godaddy domain manager and change NameServer to ixwebhosting NS.
6. Wait for domain propagation.
7. Setup new blog at ixwebhosting
