This ixwebhosting review blog was hosted at ixwebhosting.com hosting since 18 April 2007. Its more than 2 months now. So far hosting with ix hosting is quit smooth. Although there is small downtime due to their datacentre upgrade work. From the pass 2 months, i been subscribed to ix business package that allow me to host up to 8 domain/website. Currently i having 6 websites hosted here, and each of them is having own private IP address. I still got 2 slot available and need to spend some little time to develop the new site when i am free.

I run a vbulletin forum at here as well, and other five websites is a blog. So, each of them is using mysql database and some email resources. So far there is not much problem, and basically is settings that i need to customised for my websites. Lately i spend some time on the forum site, and also uploaded new wordpress theme to all my blogs hosted here, and also update the wordpress to latest version 2.2.1 which have more bugs fixed.

Seem like lots of ftp uploading works from the pass weekend, and maintaining 6 websites here, which is quit large in size is not a easy job. There is 2 webstat turn one for each of the domain hosted with ixwebhosting. Usually we don’t do duplication in shared hosting environment. Because this is slow down the website, termendously. Even got hosting that advice you to turn of awstat or webalizer, so can safe on usage, and your website can display faster. quit funny.

Once the propagation completed, the domain is now pointed to ixwebhosting, and my site is running from ix. With minimum interuption. Great.

Few hours back, i face little downtime, due to their datacentre and server upgrading work. Overall it took less than 10 minutes. And my website online after that. The support if frank and honest to let me know in details. Thanks for that.

Yesterday, 17th April 2007, after almost 2 week running this review blog, and after getting in deep understanding about ixwebhosting plan, i had finally decided to signup Ixwebhosting expert plan, that allow me to host 2 domains/websites. One of the domain name is given free, and also given 2 dedicated IP address. WOW!

As usual, i will signup using my own credit card. Visited ixwebhosting website, and go to order page, fill in all information to complete the signup. Interestingly, they ask me for ixwebhosting account signup, and require me to create password for that. This is not control panel login, or ftp login. It seem like is ixwebhosting customer account. So, i give my password and complete the setup. In less than 5 minutes, the sign up process is completed.

I received the email notification for the manager login, at the time i still not sure its for the domain or for the hosting control panel. And my account is in pending status. After an hour, my account still  in pending status. This is time to contact support. I go to ixwebhosting homepage, and locate the live chat. Chat with the support personal, and they told me ixwebhosting would need to verify my signup details. They said that my IP address that i using while signup is not the same as my registered country name. Guess this is cause by my office VPN network.
