At localtime 6pm, 25th May 2007, first time i having ftp downtime. The website still can appear as normal, and wordpress blog are accessible like normal days. However, just the ftp account can not be login/accessible. I am using cuteftp ftp client to make ftp connection. Might be a short downtime, so i waited after 10 minutes, and try to make the ftp connection to ix server again. I got the same ftp problem again. The FTP log as following:

Yaisk… this problem still persist. So, quickly i live chat with ix web hosting support and tell them about this problem. OK, my problem got their attention, and after 2 minutes, they reply and said that no problem as their site and they tested it. So, this left one solution, which is the problem is at my side. I try to login from webbrowser to ftp server, still can not connect to server. Frustrated at the beginning, but later i search online for the error message explaination. It lead me to a setting changes on cuteftp software. Change the detect mode to port, and not the auto mode instead. This solved the connected issue. So, the problem is as my side actually.

Cause of its a short duration of interuption and downtime, customer is not necessary to get informed and panic for the 10 minutes time. Well, i can accept that, as long the server is maintained at their best quality.

It’s very important that at any issue, you can reach the customer support team at the quickest, and solve the problem on the spot. If this issue is to be solved through emails, i don’t think it will ever get solved, and customer will upsad cause need to resend many emails repeatingly explaining the problem that the hosting support can’t see it at the time.
