I have been nothing but disappointed with the spam protection of this web provider. It seems to be a magnet for spam. I am looking for a provider that has better protection. The mailboxes are essentially useless to my business.

ya, ix web hosting email didn’t come with boxtrapper or spam assassin kind of features. And those are important to get rid of most spam mail from entering your inbox. I do wish ixwebhosting will include this email spam filter feature in future as well.
* An alternative is to setup spam filter at your outlook or live mail. You can marke the sender as spam, or subject title keyword as spam. Or else you can have your PC mcafee spam protection turned ON.
talking about email spams, i had few others cpanel hosting with boxtrapper, and got them enabled for few of my email accounts. I still getting lots of spam at there. Regardless what i do, there is spam.
i guess the best is to protect your email address. Don’t simply post it online etc kind of thing.

Yes, the spam gaurd blows. It requires the user to verify if they are human or not by sending a verification email to the sender. In other words, a google account, paypal, ebay emails, etc are all blocked without any way of accessing. AND, typically the verification email is considered spam on the other end! Ridiculous! They truly need a overhaul with an actual filter if they plan on surviving.

that sound like a typical spam assassin… you have to edit the spam assassin whitelist and allow the trusted email sender. thus eliminate the verification.
